Solon, Alberto rule Hyundai golf elims

CEBU, Philippines - Enrico Solon and Rolando Alberto bagged the top honors in the Hyundai World Golf Championships-Visayas Qualifying Round played at the Cebu Country Club last Thursday.

Solon topped class A while Alberto won the top honors for class B. The two players are from the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.

Runner-up honors for class A went to Marko Sarmiento while Joy Anthony Ong was the runner-up for class B.

The four players earned the right to represent Visayas to the national finals set this March 27 at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Cavite.

They will be competing with the winners of Mindanao, North Luzon and South Luzon regional qualifiers.

The top three placers in the national finals will earn the right to represent the country in the Hyundai World Golf Championship in Jeju Island Korea on May 11 to 15. – NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
