Gemmary demolishes Maglev in Atan Guardo Barkadahan Cup
CEBU, Philippines - Gemmary ’70 sustained its winning ways with a 77-57 rout of Maglev ’90 in the University of San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association (USCBHABA) Atan Guardo Barkadahan Cup at the USC-North Campus gym.
The Gemmary-backed squad, which continuously defied Father Time by slaughtering younger opposition, used a devastating third-quarter assault to tear Maglev into shreds.
After a 31-all deadlock at halftime, Gemmary ’70 dropped a deadly 28-9 bomb to blow the game wide open with a 19-point advantage, 59-40, entering the final 10-minute zone of the contest. Maglev groped for form from there onwards.
The USCBHABA is sponsored by Uniherb Philippines, one of the country’s leading health companies that produces popular food supplements such as Arthro, Heartvit, Kidneycare, Diabet, Eyeberry and Athan. Games are broadcast on Guardo TV Channel 6, a first in the league’s eight-year history.
