Jopson triumphs anew in Pipti-Pipti triathlon

-

CEBU, Philippines – Noy Jopson scored a back-to-back victories after ruling the second leg of the Pipti-Pipti Triathlon in Catmon the other day.

Jopson this time beat another former RP Team member Gerrie Calinawan in the men’s open division as the little known Elmo Clarabal finished third.

RJ Balbuena, on the other hand, felt he did the right thing to race in another class as he ruled the seniors 20 division after coming out third in the inaugural staging of the three-in-one tilt.

Balbuena outsmarted one of Cebu’s former gold medal producers in swimming, Ralph Arche, for the top spot as Daxkino Sarabosing ended up third.

Like Balbuena, Vellum’s Eugene Sanchez opted to race in another category and wound up first in the seniors 30 class followed by Warren Vergara and Fred Veloso Jr.

Damon Lim topped the masters class over Ric Dizon and Victor Villamor Jr.

Perlito Colegado dominated the “mountainbike” division for those who used mountainbikes during the cycling action. He was trailed by Rico Valentin, while Martin Sios-e placed third. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
