Class '87/94, 2005 log wins in CECABA caging

-

CEBU, Philippines - First Family Appliance ’87/94 rode on a strong start to get past First ACY Shipping 2006, 60-52, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 11th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the City Spors Club-Cebu gym.

After taking an early 17-12 edge, Class ’87/94 launched a blistering 19-4 rally in the second quarter to blow the game wide open with a 20-point advantage at halftime, 36-16.

Class ’87/94 frittered away in the final half, but had already piled up enough points to preserve the eight-point victory.

Henrich Chua and Bronson Peña each nailed a dozen points as Class ’87/94 chalked up its first win of the season. Junwynn Dy scattered 23 markers and Nolsie John Cisneros added 18 markers but their efforts went for naught as Class 2006 slumped to its second straight loss.

Earlier, PTT Lubricants 2005 banked on a decisive endgame assault to repulse JRJ Enterprises/Semers 2007, 61-53.

The score stood at 39-all after three quarters, but Class 2005 proved too hot to handle for the youngest graduates in the closing minutes of the contest.

Philip John Lua topscored for Class 2005 with 16 points followed by Kent Benedict Uy with 15. Kenneth Ang and Kristoffer Denis Lee chipped in 12 and 10 markers, respectively.

Raymark Ryan Ong led Class 2007 with a game-high 25 points.
