Montenegro and Perez rule Guba dartfest

CEBU, Philippines -  The tandem of Steve Montenegro and Junex Perez reigned supreme in the Roger and Arnel Guba Cup 2009 Open Dartfest at Baseline Sports and Recreation Center over the weekend.

Montenegro and Perez outsmarted the equally-tough duo of Yoko Quillope and Ronald Dequit for the title.

Another well-known local darters Roy Laude and Willy Abrica settled for third place honors after edging out Jerous Ponce and Stephen Abrica.

Meanwhile, local enthusiasts of the sport are hoping that there will be more darts events in the future so they could further sharpen their skills in preparation for major tournaments. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (THE FREEMAN)
