Andrew Navaja sank a back-breaking triple in the final 47 seconds of the contest to propel Trisha and Carl to an emphatic 76-73 win over the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (CIIB) and clinch the championship of the Labangon Youth Association (LAYA) 1st Ritchie Osmeña Cup the other night at the Labangon Sports Complex.
The two protagonists fought toe-to-toe most of the way until Navaja rattled the CIIB cagers with his booming triple.
Navaja finished with 15 points, but it was Jade Flores who topscored for Trisha and Carl with 28 markers. Sonny Nemeño chipped in 18 markers.
Roy Veloso paced CIIB with 18 points,while Police Supt. George Ylanan cashed in 14 points followed by Joseph Bugtai with 13 points.
In the battle for third, Noel Medalle fired 22 points and Neil Sasan added 21 points as Lola Carmen Chicharon defeated Green team, 84-80.
The Green squad was led by LAYA president Robby Ylanan with a game-high 30 points. Joggie Navaja donated 20 points.
