Guadalupe, Buhisan share top honor in inter-barangay dance contest

CEBU - Guadalupe and Buhisan bagged two golds and a silver each to share the top spot in the 12th leg of the Go Ching Hai-Martina-M.Lhuillier Dancesport and Hip-hop Competition in Brgy. San Nicolas over the weekend.

Guadalupe posted a one-two finish in the juvenile standard action through the tandems of Jhameille Therese Basanez/Paulo Usman and Glaren Roi Saldua/Naditha Manubag, respectively.

Saldua and Manubag made sure they won’t go home without a gold in their hands by dominating the latin event.

Buhisan, on the other hand, got its golds from juvenile latin dancers Rane Orquia and Juvelyn Tuling and junior standouts Jackilyn Fuentes and Jimmy Jabonero.

11th leg host Pasil placed third after taking away a gold and a silver. Its gold was handed by Mark Orcullo and Christine Abellana in the standard discipline.

Lahug placed third with a gold and three bronzes behind the efforts of Darryl Palalon and Audrey Codera.

Mambaling ended up fifth with a gold from Jason Milla and Katheren Paliro in the junior latin and a bronze.

The open action saw Cogon Pardo taking a silver and a bronze, host San Nicolas had a silver and Labangon and Cogon Ramos picking up a bronze each.

In the closed bronze figures, Hannah Conde and Kitz Genobesa topped the juvenile standard, while Sweetzel Ann Nacorda and Christian Villalon ruled the juniors class. In the latin action, Richvan Abadilla and Gernette Chiong were the best in the juvenile class, while Nacorda and Chiong lorded it over in the junior level.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
