Trisha and Karl nips MLS in LAYA

CEBU - The Trisha and Karl (formerly Trisha & Tracy) of team owner Patrick Dadang romped off with 77-63 rout of MLS to stay alive in the semifinal race of the Labangon Youth Association (LAYA) 1st Ritchie Osmeña Cup at the Labangon Sports Complex.

   In the other game, LAYA-Green also inched closer to the semis with a nerve-wracking 81-80 win over LAYA-Maroon.

Both the winners improved their win-loss records to 5-3 that could be their passports to the next round.

Jade Flores topped Trisha & Karl’s scoring chart with a game-high 35 points, while Sonny Nemeño and Boy Sello had 10 points apiece.

The MLS, which dropped to 4-4, was led by Bern Ylanan with 14 points followed by Marvin Siaotong with 13.

Mocong Abella, on the other hand, topscored for Green with 34 points while JV Pasana chipped in 14. The Maroon squad, led by Kikoy Maucesa with 37 points, suffered its fourth setback in seven starts.
