CIIB grabs solo lead in LAYA hoopla

CEBU - The Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (CIIB) blasted Trisha & Tracy, 112-103, to regain the solo lead in the Labangon Youth Association (LAYA) 1st Ritchie Cup at the Labangon Sports Complex.

 CIIB now improved its win-loss record to 4-1, just a full game ahead of erstwhile co-leader Lola Carmen Chicharon (3-1).

Joseph Bugtai exploded with 46 points for CIIB, while Arnel Veloso chipped in 28 markers.

Jade Abella was also on fire, torching in 44 points but his efforts went for naught as Trish & Tracy slipped to 3-3, thereby creating a four-way traffic at fourth place with teams Green, Maroon and Black.

 Maroon notched its third victory against the same number of defeats after shutting down Black, 71-64.

Kikoy Maucesa topscored for Maroon with 21 points.

 Bern Ylanan, younger brother of CIIB chief Police Supt. George Ylanan paced Black with 23 points followed by Nelson Luague with 18 points.
