Alazas tops CFIC Prexy Cup

CEBU - Once again Alvin Alazas asserted his position as one of the top players of the club when he bagged the overall title in last Friday’s President’s Cup Golf Tournament of Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu.

Alazas, fired a gross score of four-over-par 75 in the course located in Pulangyuta, Danao City and designed by Peter Chiongbian. His handicap of ten strokes left him with a net score of 65, the best for the tournament.

A consistent member of the CFIC team to the annual Philippine Airlines Interclub Golf Tournament, Alazas counts among his major titles the club champion of Cebu Country Club over a decade ago.

The class A title of the 18-hole strokeplay event went to Hospicio ‘Razy’ Razon, who carded a net 66 off a gross score of 75.

Runner-up honors for the premiere handicap class went to Evans Tumaliwan with a net score of 73 edging Ramon Sebastian in the countback by virtue of a par on the 17th hole.

Joselito ‘Jiji’ Gullas ruled class B with a net score of 66 strokes off a gross score of 81.

Ramon ‘Boboy’ Durano IV took the runner-up honors for the category with his net score of 70 after pulling past Abel de Manuel in the countback also with a better score of a par on the tricky par-4 17th.

Arman Serafin ruled class C with a net score of 68 strokes off his gross of 89.

Runner-up, also via the countback, was Tony de Jesus with a net score of 69 edging Raymund Calderon and Ed Aliño as he had the best score of bogey on the long par-4 18th.

The seniors’ division crown went to Ed Lising with a net score of 70 strokes off a gross of 96.

Runner-up honors for the 60 years old and above category went to Larry Ocheda with a net score of even-par 71 off a gross 97.
