Cebuano mountainbikers to invade Hilongos this Sunday

Cebu’s top mountainbikers are expected to see action anew in Hilongos when the 2008 Games of Wheels takes place this Sunday.

The one-day competition features three events, sprint, circuit and the cross-country.

The sprint and circuit racing will have two classes, the 30 years old and under and 30-above, while the cross-country race will be a team competition.

Each team in the cross-country shall be composed of five members regardless of gender, individual classification or age.

With that, if five members of the national team wants to join forces, they could do it if they want to.

The cross-country action will cover a total of 24 kilometers passing through different barangays of Hilongos.

The sprint race, on the other hand, will have 400 meters of action and the circuit with a distance of 12 kilometers at the town proper.

Aside from trophies, a total of P20,000 in cash prizes are at stake for the winners of the Hilongos Cycling One-organized race.

Registration fee is pegged at only P50.
