Loquias, Ortega power Yellow to victory
CEBU - Bong Loquias and ex-SWU Cobra “Iron Man” Esteban Cesar Ortega powered the Yellow team to a 92-73 victory over the Red squad in the 8th USC-South Campus PTCA, Inc. basketball tournament at the school’s covered court.
In the other game, Maroon shaded Blue, 88-78.
Loquias had 21 points followed by Ortega with 20 markers for Yellow, which battered the hapless Red early on to mount a commanding 41-17 lead.
The Yellow team scored only seven points in the second period, but it still led by 19 points at the halftime, 51-32.
Neil Resma also joined the scoring parade for Yellow with 20 points even as two others cashed in double figures.
Former USJ-R Jaguars swingman Rey Abarquez paced Red with 26 points.Later, ex-pro and commercial star Lou Regidor topscored for Maroon with 26 points. Jess Gabatan spearheaded Blue’s offense with 22 points, while Engr. Rick Fornis chipped in 16 markers in a losing cause.
