FBL hoop semifinals get underway this pm at SHS-J

CEBU - Top seed University of San Carlos-South Campus will start its title-retention bid when it goes up against sister-club and fourth seed USC-North in today’s crossover semifinals in the juniors division of the Future Basketball League (FBL) at the old Sacred Heart School-Jesuit (SHS-J) gym along Gen. Maxilom Avenue, this city.

The USC teams will clash at 4 pm.

In the first game at 1 pm, SHS-J, the top ranked squad in the mini division, will take on USC-South, while the second seed Don Bosco faces no. 3 qualifier USC-North.

The midget division semis will follow immediately with no.1 seed SHS-J squaring off against Don Bosco and the the second seed USC-North battling it out against tough rival USC-North.

USC-North’s Janmar Regidor, son of ex-pro and commercial star Lou Regidor, is the man to watch in the juniors division along with Bradley Bacaltos and Fil-Nigerian Richgreen Nwanaka.

The USC-South, on the other hand, is bannered by Ian Ortega, son of ex-SWU Cobra Esteban Cesar Ortega who is an active member of the USC-South Campus PTCA and organizer of the 8th PTCA cagefest.

The top two seeds in the semifinals enjoy twice-to-beat incentives.

The FBL, sponsored by Primovit, is founded by USC basketball consultant Mike Reyes. (GGM) (THE FREEMAN)
