CEBU - Ramontito Garcia once again flashed the form that made him Cebu’s foremost amateur golfer in the 1990s as he carded a four-under-par 68 strokes to score the lowest gross in the November Monthly Medal of Cebu Country Club last weekend.
Garcia’s net score of 64 strokes was also the best for the tournament.
The class A title went to Harvey Sytiongsa with a net score of 66 strokes off a gross 75 while runner-up honors went to Franz Olea with a net 67 off a gross 74.
Shotaru Suda topped class B with a net score of 67 off a gross 79 while banker Prudgie Gesta was the runner-up with a net 69 strokes.
Jacinto Limyutian won the class C title with a net score of 67 and runner-up honors went to Takaharu Imai with a net 69 after he pulled past Ben Li and Mamuro Ito in the countback.
Naotsugu Isobe scored net 69 to top class D and the runner-up honors went to his compatriot Tsuyoshi Koike with a net score of 71.
Cesar Libi won the seniors’ division (60 years old and above) title with a net score of 68. Lawyer Francis Zosa finished as runner-up with a net score of 71.
In the guest division, Teddy Almario won the title with a net 73 edging Dino Yap, who finished with the same score, in the countback. Yap settled for the runner-up honors. – NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
