Motosuit last leg in Carcar today

-

CEBU - The 2008 MS Motosuit Motocross Series ends today in Carcar with the 2nd City of Carcar Mayor’s Challenge at Ramona’s Recreation and Multi-Purpose Center.

Glenn Aguilar leads more than 60 riders (from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) that will go after trophies and points in today’s 14th and final leg of Cebu’s biggest motocross series.

The like of top pros Pepo Rubi, Irwin Ramas-Uypitching, Jon-Jon Adlawan and Juvanni Abellar will try to crowd Aguilar for the title. Motocross fans are expecting unrestrained action in all classes because this is the last race of the year.

The rider to watch is Seigfred Ornopia who is leading the race for the coveted Rider of the Year title. Ornopia has been riding very well and has dominated previous races in the executive class.

Crowd darling John Flores has downplayed his chances to challenge Ornopia for the title but said he wants to end this year’s series gracefully. The 15-year-old will again ride his brand new Honda 250 cc bike that gave him some problems in the last two legs of the series.

Flores told The FREEMAN that his fans need not worry because he has slowly adjusted to the machine and hopes that it will do wonders for him during tomorrow’s race.

For the first time, in three years, this Imarflex Evvo and Castrol-supported event will be ending early. Still the series is the longest and most taxing race in terms of number legs contested and hosts of the event.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
