All set for 3rd Seminary Fund Run
CEBU - Everything is already in place for the 3rd Seminary Fund Run on November 30 starting and ending at the Cebu Business Park.
Although there is another footrace that will be taking place on that same day, the event organizers are not worried as far as participation is concerned because they already got the support of some running clubs, schools, and running enthusiasts of MEPZ.
Sponsors have flowed in for the Cebu Archdiocesan Major Seminary Foundation Incorporated (CAMSFI)-spearheaded race that include Smart Telecommunications, Timex, ABS-CBN, IPI, Hosanna Printing Haus, Blue Info Club Channel 45, Crossover, 2Big Kinvara Corporation, Graphicstar, Basic Graphics,Nature’s Spring, and Julie’s Bakeshop among others.
Around 1, 500 runners including priests and seminarians are expected join the fund-raising activity that features the 10-kilometer, 5K and 3K categories.
The 10K division is open to executives and members of the different running clubs, while the 5K will be for MEPZ employees and the running priests and seminarians. The 3K is for entries aged 12 years old and below.
Special prizes are at stake for all the winners.
“No cash will be given away as the purpose of this event is not purely competition. It is meant to inform, invite and invoke to the public about the existence of the Seminario Mayor de San Carlos as well as for the renovation project of the 60-year-old edifice,” said CAMSFI president Msgr. Guillermo Gorre.
Interested parties may register at either the Philippine Sports Commission-7 located at the Cebu City Sports Center or at the Seminario Mayor de San Carlos. The deadline for the submission of entries is on the 28th.
Entry fee is pegged at P150 only inslusive of a singlet and some freebies from event sponsors.
