UC, USJ-R win in PCCL Ormoc Zonals

CEBU - The University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters crushed the AMA Computer College of Ormoc, 101-60, even as the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars topped the Bacolod-based West Negros University (WNU) Mustangs, 88-77, in the Visayas Zonals of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) at the Ormoc Superdome.

Kim Arvin Gomez, son of Webmasters coach Roel Gomez, had a breakout performance of 22 points spiked with five triples even as five other UC cagers scored in double figures to typify their balanced scoring.

Lawrence Agas finished with 14 points for the Webmasters, while Rommel Luceño added 12. Kevin Quilantang and Janssen Abella had 11 points each while Ralph Ramos added 10 markers.

June Mar Fajardo was given rest for most of the time and contributed only seven points.

The Webmasters though couldn't celebrate yet as they still have to face a tough hurdle in Letran Knights of NCAA.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, have a lighter assignment as they are pitted next with Bohol Institute of Technology-International College (BIT-IC) Cruisers.
