Back-to-back MS Motosuit moto-x races this weekend

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU - After a two-month break, the 2008 MS Motosuit Motocross Series plunges back to action with back-to-back legs starting off with the Mayor Avelino Gungob Sr. Cup today in the Consolacion.

The event serves as the 12th leg of this year’s series that will be followed by the 13th leg billed as “Keiz BJ Motorsales Cup” tomorrow in Caduawan, Tabogon.

The multi-titled Glenn Aguilar, an image model of MS Motosuit, will banner the list of competing riders in the two-day day battle of speed, grits and guts.

Aguilar tags along with him his son McLean, who will be racing for the first time in the Queen City of the Sourth.

The promising McLean is seeking to follow in the footsteps of his decorated dad Glenn, a 10-time national titlist and one-time Asian motocross champion. The younger Aguilar will showcase his wares in the mini class.

Over 60 daredevils will take part in this weekend’s swashbuckling show sponsored by Imarflex Evvo, Castrol, RMO, Reliance, Keiz BJ Motorsales of Seigfred Ornopia, Cebu Progress,Chowking-Consolacion, and Consolacion Councilor Taboy Abenales.

Aside from the presence of the father-and-son tandem of Glenn and McLean Aguilar, this marks for the first time that the participants will try to outwit and outpace each other at the newly-constructed racetrack in Consolacion.

MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia said the Consolacion race course is nestled in an area of more than a hectare, bigger than the former racetrack at Boardwalk in North reclamation area.

Ornopia, last year’s “Sportsman of the Year” awardee by the Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC), plans to hold a night supercross at the said racetrack on a regular basis in the future. – THE FREEMAN
