Today, the Warriors will have to try their luck as they take on the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in Game 1 of the best-of-three semifinal series for third place in the 8th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) basketball season at the Cebu Coliseum.

In the secondary division, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers will go up against the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildkittens in their own race-to-two series for third. The games were orginally set by CESAFI commissioner Felix O. Tiukinhoy, Jr for Wednesday but they have to change the schedule because of the unavailability of the venue.

When they met in the elimination, the Warriors defeated the Webmasters, 110-101, while the Baby Panthers whipped the Wildkittens, 87-83.

The Warriors shocked the seven-time University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers during the season opener last August 2.

The Warriors will count the most from Sam Jordan Hermosa, Giovanni Padillo, and Joven Cid Cortes.

The Webmasters, on the other hand, will rely on 6-foot-9 giant Jun Mar Fajardo in the company of Janssen Abella, Edward Pao and Kevin Quilantang among others.

The Baby Panthers will squeeze the most from James Ferraren and Peter Cañete, while the Wildkittens bank on the tandem of Mark Jayven Tallo and Jeffrey Taghoy. – THE FREEMAN
