SCSIT streaks past Black Shama in MLKP U-21 caging

CEBU - The Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Baby Skyblazers sparked a searing 12-0 run in the final four minutes of play to shackle host Consolacion National High School (CNHS) Black Shama in the 6th M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Under-21 Developmental Basketball League at the full-packed Consolacion Sports Complex.

The Baby Skyblazers of coach Jojo Romarate enjoyed a 37-32 lead at halftime, but lost steam in the third period, enabling the Black Shama cagers to stage a daring counter-attack en route to wrest the upperhand, 54-52, going into the last quarter.

The last time Black Shama hang on to lead was at 69-67 as the Baby Skyblazers unloaded a 12-0 blast to ice the match and chalk up their first win in the two-month tournament organized by M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) executive director Eddie B. Ybañez.

The champion will receive P5,000, while the second and third will get P3,000 and P2,000, respectively. Since it is a fund-raiser event for a noble cause, the prizes will be donated to charitable institution of the winners’ choice.
