'Operation Paltik III' airsoft tilt set

CEBU - It’s all systems go for Operation Paltik III dubbed as the 1st Congressional Cup set September 27 to 28 at the Ramon H. Durano Sports Complex in Danao City.

Twelve teams will be vying for top honors led by defending champion Mandaue Airsoft Group (MAG). The other contenders are Black Aces, CAST, Cobra, Deep Recon, Has H2O, LTD, OAC, RAS, SAT, SAAT and Trident Knights.

Edmund Pingkian of team MAG said they are ready to defend their title after improving their maneuvering skills in many weekend games they had.

Defending their title, however, will never be easy according to Pingkian with the rest of the teams also preparing hard for the competition.

This year’s edition borrows its theme from the movie “The Rock.” The mission of participating teams will be to retrieve a missile, bring to a safe zone and defuse it.

More than the fun and thrill of playing, the organizing Danao Airsoft Group also known as Team Diablo hopes that this event will eliminate most of the people’s notion about the word “paltik.”

He said Danao has legitimate and legal gun makers and airsoft enthusiasts who will be participating in the competition will be guns licensed by the Airsoft Federation of Cebu.

Noting the cooperation of different airsoft groups in Cebu, Congressman Red Durano said that Mandaue will, from this time on, hold at least two airsoft competitions every year. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
