Alaska-Abbya captures Better Run cage title
CEBU - The Alaska-Abbya Team (Viclab) of coach Chris Rible whacked Left Over (Team E), 82-61, to clinch the title of the Better Run Basketball Tournament at the Mambaling gym.
Andot Ladonga hit his targets at will to topscore for Abbya with 22 points. He was ably backed up by Samuel Buaya and Demy Pesquera with 18 and 12 markers, respectively.
The losing team, however, has something to cheer about as its top gunner Melior bagged the coveted MVP award.
On hand to receive the championship trophy for Abbya was its eam manager and Mambaling barangay councilor Victor Laborte.
The Better Run Second Conference (Christmas League) is scheduled to start next month. The league is founded by former UV Lancer and presently CESAFI deputy commissioner Danny Duran.
