Paguntalan lifts BIAR past CTP in PPSA caging

CEBU - Lemuel Paguntalan hit a medium-range jumper in the final eight seconds of the contest to lift BIAR to a precarious 84-82 victory over CTP dribblers in the Punta Princesa Sports Association (PPSA) Businessmen’s Cup 2008 at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.           

The CTP of Reeve Jumawan enjoyed a 82-80 edge in the final one minute of the contest, but BIAR’s Rommel Hapin scored on fastbreak layup to tie the count at 82-all with 13 seconds left to play.

CTP’s failure to convert one good play in its final possession set up the stage for Paguntalan’s heroics.

Paguntalan paced BIAR with 20 points followed by Keith Arellano with 13 markers.

Teroy Albarillo topscored for CTP with 16 points, while Lou Regidor and Rodrigo Bruzon chipped in 15 points apiece.
