MCA now 2-0 in MLKP U-21 hoop

CEBU - The Mabolo Christian Academy crushed Liloan selection, 71-56, for its second straight win in as many games in the 6th M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Under-21 Developmental Basketball League at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

The MCA chargers did not give host Liloan any breathing space after jumping off to a fying 20-9 start.

The lead grew to 15 points at halftime, 37-24, and by the end of the third quarter, MCA further ripped the game apart, 55-38.

 In the other games, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers and Consolacion National High School (CNHS) Black Shama preyed on separate foes for their first win in the tournament organized by the M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) through the initiative of its executive director Eddie B. Ybañez.

USPF streaked past Jeff’s Pharmadent, 55-50, while Black Shama of coach Dennis Damalerio banked on the game-long brilliance of Lemuel Malagar to stun the Athletes for Christ through Excellent Service (ACES), 73-65.

The Black Panthers trailed by seven at the end of the first period, 6-9, but bounced back with finesse in the succeeding period to wrest the driver’s seat at halftime, 24-23, for good.

Malagar, on the other hand, pumped in nine straight points of his season-high 29 markers to shatter a 60-all standoff and vault Black Shama to triumph.
