Team 46 sets pace in Corn Tee

CEBU - Team number 46 has set the early pace in the Corn Tee of  Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu played at their course in Danao City.

Based on the first day scores provided to The Freeman, the team made a total of 166 points in the four-man team event using the Modified Stableford Scoring System.

Jery Uy, the club member, scored 36 points and got ample support from Gerry Gollon with 46, Jet Neric with 45 and Tony Sikimhua with 39.

Running second was team 35 with a total of 161 points. The team is composed of Dindo Perez with 43 together with guests Joel Pascual 45, Dustin Morada 42, and Tito Velez 31.

Team 31 led by Louie Moro was at third spot with 158 points. Moro made 38 while his teammates Macky Michael made 43, Dino Yap 41, and Toby Florendo added 36.

The team of Evans Tumaliwan was at fourth spot with 156 points. Tumaliwan made 41 and was backed by Jovi Neri with 41, Kiyofumi Takahashi with 38 and Shotaro Suda with 36.

Tied for fourth is the all-doctor foursome composing team 47 also with 156 points. Jose Ma. Perez made 35 points while his guests were Rudy Amatong with 44, Shawn Espina with 42 and Albert Solis with 35.

The major sponsors of the four-day event, which opened last Saturday are San Miguel Corp., Pagcor, Duty Free Phils., Development Bank of the Phils., Landco-Monterrazas de Cebu and Mazda Cebu.

Mazda has put a car at stake for a hole-in-one in the tournament.

This event was put together by the members of the tournament committee led by Evans Tumaliwan. Other members are Boboy Durano, Dindo Perez, Sam Dunque, Danny Flores, Ed Aliño, and club president Renato V. Osmeña.

Minor backers of the event are Bank of Commerce, Smart Communications, Duros Dev’t. Corp., Norkis Group of Companies, Cebu Mitsumi, Profoods Corp., and Cebu Land Masters.

Also supporting the tournament are University of the Visayas, Philippine Airlines, Fast Cargo Corp., Redgolf, Skygo Motorcycle, Aboitiz 2Go, RCBC, MacII Auto Sales, Sunstar, Y101, 6R Mercantile, Bogo-Medellin Sugarcane Planters, Kaishu Seafood Japanese Restaurant, and Geo Transport.
