The newly-formed St. Theresa’s College (STC) football team immediately made an impact when it blanked Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion (CIC), 11-0, in the girls secondary football of the 13th Milo Little Olympics yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Aleli Mejias sparked STC’s fierce assault by completing a hat-trick in the early goings of the match. Lucille Parilla fired two more goals to give the Theresians a commanding 5-0 edge.
There seems to be no stopping for STC on the offensive end as Parilla, Mejias, and Regine Marie Flores put their acts together in another five-goal rampage to put the Theresians comfortably ahead, 10-0. Mejias nailed the final point of the one-sided battle.
With its impressive victory, STC positioned itself for a grand final showdown with defending champion Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus.
In the boys division, Bright Academy thumped St. Dominic Learning Center, 9-0, while Cebu City National Science High School (CCNSHS) overpowered Lyceum de Cebu, 14-0.
CIC-Mandaue, on the other hand, walloped Cebu Institute of Technology, 4-1.
In the elementary level, Bright Academy trounced CIC, 3-1, while Canduman Elementary School routed St. Paul, 11-0. — Marigold P. Lebumfacil
