AMBL, Three B drub foes in PPSA Businessmen Cup hoop

CEBU - The AMBL quintet of Allan Lim escaped with a 113-108 victory over Jo-Nel’s Trucking of Joey Cal at the start of the Punta Princesa Sports Association (PPSA) Businessmen Cup 2008 last Wednesday at the Vincente Sotto Memorial Sports Complex in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

In the other game, Three B defeated BIAR, 81-74.

Down by eight points, 20-28, at the end of the first period, AMBL outscored Jo-Nel’s in the second canto, 30-20, to grab the lead at halftime, 50-48, for good.

Lito Navarro and Robert Abasolo proved to be a deadly one-two punch for AMBL finishing with 30 and 20 points, respectively.

Argel Magan, Louie Navarro, Jimbo Nole and Lim also scored in double figures for AMBL.

The tandem of Opong Zafra and Cesar Ortega led Jo-Nel’s with 52 points combined.

Rondyll Roncal, on the other hand, paced Three-B with 30 points. He was backed up by former UC stars Alex Armenion and Reggie Licanda with 10 points apiece.

Jason Estella led BIAR with 18 points, while Rommel Hapin chipped in 14 markers.
