Cebuano judoka is off to Japan

Multi-titled Cebuano judoka Vicente “Nonoy” L. Fernandez III will be leaving for Tokyo, Japan this morning together with seven other fast-rising Pinoy judokas to participate in the Asia Junior Sports Games.

Fernandez is the lone Cebuano picked by the Philippine Amateur Judo Association (PAJA) to avail of the training program.

Fernandez, one of brightest products of the now defunct Batang Pinoy, will be at the Japanese capital for five days.

The training program is very timely for Fernandez as he is gearing up for this year’s Philippine Olympic Festival (POF) National Finals this October in Cagayan de Oro City. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
