Milo Olympics to open Sept. 5

This year’s edition of the Milo Little Olympics-Visayas will kick off on September 5 at the Cebu City Sports Center .

The event will be formally launched before the month ends.

A total of 12 sporting events will be played in the two-weekend tilt. These are athletics, swimming, badminton, chess, scrabble, gymnastics, table tennis, lawn tennis, taekwondo, sipa, volleyball and sepak takraw.

The two playing dates are set on September 6-7 and September 13-14.

The awarding of the top 10 schools and the Most Outstanding Athletes will be done for the first time at the SM City-Cebu Entertainment Center.

It was decided by the organizers that the awarding will be held in a mall not only to expose Cebu’s promising athletes to the public, but also to encourage the parents and the youngsters to indulge themselves into sports. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
