3rd Run for Sight this am

Over a thousand runners will again be out in the streets early today for the 3rd University Run...Run For Sight starting at the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) grounds at the Mandaue reclamation area.

Reigning champion Riez Enriquez is expected to show up and defend his title in the men’s open action, while it is going to be anybody’s game in the distaff side as last year’s top winner Liezsl Lumindas-Getaruelas is still in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia for an international competition.

Madelyn Carter, the Cebu leg winner of the 32nd National Milo Marathon, is one of the top title contenders in the women’s class.

The participants in the open division will negotiate a 10-kilometer route. The other categories featured are the 5K and 3K Fun Run.

Event organizer Dr.Yong Larrazabal, on the other hand, is the man to beat among the competing doctors.  Students, faculty and staff of CDU will be in full force in the race, which is backed up by the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE).

The run-for-a-cause also serves as the opening salvo of CDU’s week-long intramurals.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
