Agencia Grande, McMill Ent., and Tigers log wins in GAA hoop
Team Agencia Grande toppled AC sports of Archie Baba, 80-71, for its third win in four starts in the Guadalupe Athletic Association (GAA) Founder’s Cup 2008 basketball tournament at the Guadalupe Sports Complex.
Agencia Grande led most of the way and posted its biggest lead at 10 points, 62-52, entering the final period.
Benjie Capili topscored for Agencia Grande with 19 points followed by top pointguard Allan Ricaña with 18.
Serge Cortes paced AC sports with 23 points.
In the other games, McMill Enterprises of Macky Japitan beat the Chito Nabua-led Swan quintet, 87-84, in come-from-behind fashion, the Tigers drubbed MGR Marketing, 78-63, while Pan Borikat dumped the winless Ramboys of Estong Rama, 82-65.
Shawin Jacanlan and Danny de la Peña powered McMill with 27 and 16 points, respectively, even as Arvin Vertudazo and Dong Granada also cashed in double figures.
Greg Bamba carried the load for Swan with 25 points, while Lino Gabato and Allan Gabutin chipped in 12 points each.
The Tigers, on the other hand, banked on the tandem of Arnold Arhla and Greg Sabal with a combined 35 points, while Macky Superales and Alvin Nuñez nailed 10 markers apiece.
