Mandaue Jaycees now 4-0 in JBA caging

The Mandaue Jaycees of Joey Cal rolled on to its fourth straight victory with a 94-72 shellacking of the hapless Purcia Transport in the Jaycees Basketball Association (JBA) President’s Cup 2008 at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

From the start, the Mandaue Jaycees was in complete command and closed the third period with a 14-point advantage, 67-53.

Ringo Balbuena had his finest game in the league to topscore Mandaue Jaycees with 17 points. Four others cashed in double figures underscoring their balanced offensive.

Nestor Patindol chipped in 14 points for Mandaue Jaycees, Ed Latonio and Edgar Colina banged in 13 markers apiece, while Ritchie Garcia scored 10.

Niño Boniel scored a game-high 25 points for Purcia, while Chito Hernandez and Janjan Boniel  combined for 25 points, but their efforts went for naught as they remained winless in four games.

In the other game, RC Goldline-Alcatel pulled off a 66-65 cliffhanger over Landview Property to improve its win-loss record to 4-1.

Dennis Que delivered the game-clincher for RC Goldline with 12 seconds left to play. Que paced Alcatel with 26 points followed by Dave Lim with 16.
