RC Goldline,Versacool score in TBA hoopfest

RC Goldline-Alcatel and Versacool bounced back from previous defeats in the Jaycees Basketball Association (JBA) President’s Cup 2008 at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

The Chris Paroan-led RC Goldline parlayed a 42-32 advantage at halftime to edge out Cebu Dencraft, 80-74, and keep the second spot with an improved 3-1 win-loss record, while Versacool thrashed Purcia Transport, 87-73.

Dexter So paced RC Goldline with 30 points, while Dennis Que chipped in 25 markers. Hefty center Dave Lim and Grant Go contributed had 12 and 11 markers, respectively.

Cebu Dencraft, which fell to 2-2, was led by Joseph Jayme and Peter Sta. Maria. Jayme with 60 points combined.

In the other game, Edmund Odullo scattered 17 points and Joey Cruz scored 15 as Versacool chalked up its second win in five games. They got huge backing on the offensive end from  Benedict Chua, Jeremy Huang, Charlie Tolentino and Abby Sy.

Chito Hernandez paced with 26 points followed by Jay-R Purcia with 16. (GGM)
