The Dumanjug cagers hammered the visiting Alegria, 96-72, to record the historic first win of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Cebu Developmental Basketball League last Sunday at the Dumanjug Sports Complex.
Mayor Cesar Baricuatro, the LMP president, witnessed the game to give his players the needed moral support. The Julian Macoy-coached Dumanjug shoots for a 2-0 lead when it plays host to Moalboal on Saturday.
With four players cashing in double figures, Dumanjug had a near flawless offensive. After breaking a 23-all deadlock in the first period, Dumanjug pounced on Alegria in the next two quarters to mount an imposing 73-49 advantage.
Raymond Handumon led Dumanjug with 20 points, while Simon Bigno and Jerby Medina chipped in 17 and 16 markers, respectively.
