Motocross weekend in San Remigio

Back-to-back dirtbike action unravels this morning in Calambua, San Remigio with the staging of an endurocross and then motocross event.

Today’s battle will be dubbed as “Castrol Power 1 Enduro Challenge”, an event presented by MS Motosuit.

This is the first event for Castrol since its tie-up with MS Motosuit, the trusted quality makers of seat covers for motorcycles and cars and as well as a respected organizer of the extreme sport in the region.

In the Enduro Challenge, the regular trail riders meet with hardcore racetrack riders. They  will go up against each other after dealing with a cliff, a creek, rough and tough terrains.

The rider with the most endurance and speed in hurdling all obstacles wins the race.

Tomorrow, the riders will go for the top position in the third leg of the 2008 MS Motosuit Motocross Series, which is also billed as the 10th Ornopia Cup. The event, which is mainly backed up by Imarflex Battery, is expected to attract a big number of riders and spectators.

The Ornopia Cup is the forerunner of the MS Motosuit Motocross Series, now considered as the biggest motocross series outside Manila.

The  MS Motosuit action is a big hit that even the country’ No.1 rider Glenn Aguilar takes part in the race. Aguilar is also the official endorser of MS Motosuit along with the fast-rising Cebuano daredevil John Flores.

Aguilar will be racing against a bunch of veteran and upcoming riders in the mold of Castrol-Quickflight’s main man Pepo Rubi, reigning MS Motosuit “Rider of the Year” Jovanni Abellar, Jon-Jon Adlawan, and Ted Conde among others.

Aside from the action-packed battle, spectators also have something to look forward to as a brand new motorcycle courtesy of Keiz BZ Motor Sales owner Seigfred Ornopia will be raffled off.

“This is our own little way of sharing our blessings to those who have supported our races in Calambua for the past 10 years now,” said MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia.

The two-day spectacle is also supported by Castrol Power 1, Keiz BZ Motor Sales,Norkis Trading Corporation, F&F Motorparts, Cebu Progress Manufacturing, LJ Marble & Construction Supply, RMO Motorsales, MS Digital Prints,and 888 Muffler Tech Header Core.
