Mandaue to host rodeo competition backed by Zubirri

Senator Juan Miguel ‘Migs’ Zubirri has agreed to support another horseback riding event in Mandaue City in cooperation with the Cebu Equine Owners and Breeders and Sportsmen Association (CEOBSA).

The national event will be held on May 3 and 4 at the Mandaue Reclamation Area.

Zubirri, who himself is into horseback riding, will be supporting a rodeo-style event, which the CEOBSA is also bent on promoting in Cebu.

CEOBSA founding president Anton Quisumbing, is also very excited about this May event as last month, he won one of the rodeo events in the Kaamulan Festival in Bukidnon.

The Freeman learned that Senator Zubirri himself  preparing to show his wares in rodeo for the event.

Also set to show their wares are Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and other Cebu mayors, who are also into horseback riding.

CEOBSA expects around 14 teams from all over the country to join next month’s event.

 After the Zubirri Cup, Quisumbing said, they are also aiming for no less than the President Arroyo’s Cup. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
