Largo, Siso reach semis in Prince tennis tourney

Racquet-wielders from the University of the Visayas (UV) and University of San Carlos (USC) are on a roll in the 2008 Prince All-Students Tennis Tournament at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club tennis courts.

UV’s Francis Largo dominated Junnel Espinosa, 8-3, to advance into the semifinals of the boys secondary division. He will be joined into the penultimate round by USC’s Bernardine “Niño” Siso, who trounced UV’s Cyril Camporedondo, 8-2.

Larry Antigua of UV, on the other hand, overpowered Amil Ayu-ay of the University of San Jose Recoletos, 8-3.

USJ-R’s JV Canoy, did not experience the same fate with Ayu-ay as he successfully thumped Israel Abarquez of Carcar Academy, 8-7, to book a semis ticket.

In the distaff side, USC’s Cheska Tabotabo routed Mary Ann Miñoza of UV, 8-3, while Krystel Mae Buenacosa of USC pummeled Rosa Maria Gelbolingo of USJ-R, 8-1.

Not wanting to be outdone, UV’s Hanna Espinosa defeated Jessica Lagman of Sacred Heart School-Hijas De Hesus, 8-2.
