Cherifer 12-under hoopla on today

The Cebu leg of the 2nd Cherifer Tangkad Sagad 12-under basketball tournament unfolds today starting at 7 am at the Don Bosco covered courts in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

A total of 16 teams have signified their intent to join the competing, but only 12 so far have submitted their lineups.

These are defending champion USC-North Campus,  USC-South Campus, Cebu Eastern College, Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy of Minglanilla, Philippine Christian Gospel School, Power Play (A ), St. Alphonsus Catholic Schools (SACS) of Lapu-Lapu City, Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology, St.Anthony Learning Center of Talisay, USJ-R (A & B) and USPF.

The four entries which have yet to submit their rosters today are host Don Bosco, Power Play (B), Sirlitz Clinic and Danao Sports Commission-Time Out.

The Cherifer caging is a developmental tournament for boys 12 years under. It aims to provide the kids an avenue  to hone their skills and showcase their hoop talents.

Cebu leg organizer Britt Carlo Reroma said that Tom Meneses, Cherifer advertising and marketing director of Intermed Marketing Phlips., Inc., will be coming over to oversee the conduct of the competition. Intermed is the exclusive distributor of Cherifer products.

San Beda juniors coach Edmundo “Ato” Badolato is the tournament director, while the national organizer is Bernard Ocampo. (GGM)
