Sam’s Moondogs, Hayden, SRBC rout foes in K Gallery

Sam’s Moondogs, Hayden and San Remigio Beach Club (SRBC) demolished their respective foes in the continuing action of the 2008 K Gallery First Conference Basketball Tournament at the Visayan Glass Gym in Brgy. Guadalupe, this city.

Martin Grogaard posted 17 points as Sam’s Moondogs devoured Diakon, 74-56, Hayden hammered an 82-48 rout of El Deneyroe, while San Remigio BC blew away Yayoy’s Grill, 68-54.

San Remigio BC set the pace of the match right after the opening tip-off. It kept the Rocky Alcoseba-led Yayoy’s Grill at bay since taking a 24-20 edge at the end of the first period. The lead grew to 12 points, 50-38, heading into the final 10-minute mark of the contest.

Yayoy’s Grill couldn’t find an answer to San Remigio’s relentless offensive in the windup to suffer its first setback in the tournament.
