Little-known Yoko Quilote surprised the rest after winning the singles title of the 2007 Mayor Tomas Osmeña and Councilors Dart Cup 2008 the other night at Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.
Quilote defeated the veteran William Encorporado for the top spot of this concluded event of the month-long competition.
Another seasoned darter, Dick-Dick Ramirez, wound up third, while Angelito Badayos ended fourth.
Dino Bacayo and Jerous Ponce finished at joint fifth and sixth, while the seventh and eight position went to Wyno Ugang and Dodong Lumantao.
Though he missed to take home the top spot, Ugang still went home happy as he and Bethoven “Boy” Campugan succeeded in grabbing the classified doubles title.
Ugang and Campugan defeated Ramirez and Stevan Montenegro in the finals. Allan Veloso and Odong Pamatian ended third followed by Encorporado and Larry Tan.
The equally-exciting classified four-man competition saw Jerous Ponce’s team winning the title after edging out the twice-to-beat squad of Jerome Perales.
With Ponce in the team were Larry Garrido, Dino Bacayo and Bluboy Manlunas.
The top performers of this City Hall Employees’ Darts Association (CHEDA)-organized event will formally be feted in a simple awarding rites on March 1 at Baseline restaurant. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
