CIT tops Bracket A in M. Lhuillier hoopfest

The Super Pycnogenol and Hoop It Up-backed Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildkittens terminated Ave Maria Sanctuary Park to keep their unbeaten record intact in the 4th M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Under-21 Developmental Basketball League at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

The CIT Wildkittens of coach Marvin Felicis completed a seven-game elimination round sweep that earned them the top seed in Bracket A going into the next phase of the three-month tilt organized by MLSDF executive director Eddie B. Ybañez.

Thus, the Wildkittens clinch a twice-to-beat advantage over the fourth-ranked University of the Visayas (UV)-Mandaue Academy in the quarterfinal round that will start this Saturday still at the same venue.

Agukoy Consolacion will enjoy the same privilege over Barangay Pajo.

The Wildkittens kept Ave Maria Sanctuary Park at bay after jumping off to a 22-12 start. They were in complete control of the match from thereon and built as much as 21 points lead, 58-37, entering the final 10 minutes of the contest.

Over in Bracket B, the MLSDF selection and Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute Technology (SCSIT) Baby Skyblazers of coach Jojo Romarate are armed with twice-to-beat incentives when they take on Cebu Fortune and Consolacion National High School, respectively.
