Registration for “Run for your Heart” event starts

Registration for this year’s “Run for your Heart” set on February 10 is now going on in two hospitals here.

Those who are interested to join the race may register either at the Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital through Baby at 254-9246  or at the Perpetual Succour Hospital through Em-em at  232-2522.

The deadline for registration for the 10-kilometer run will be on February 8,  while those who opt to run under the 6K could still register during race day.

On the other hand, those who are interested to set up a booth at the CDUH gym can e-mail at [email protected] for inquiries.

“We  believe that running is one of the best forms of promoting a healthy lifestyle,” said Fun Run chairman Dr. Alex Junia.

Participants will pass through Osmeña Boulevard, Escario, Gorordo, and Cebu Business Park.

“We think this event will be more of a fun and family event. We would like to encourage the participants and their family to attend the Lay Forum on Sports Injuries Prevention which will be held as part of the post race activities at the CDH gymnasium,” added Dr. Junia.

The event is organized by the Philippine Heart Center Medical Alumni Society-Cebu Chapter with the Cebu Road Runners Club and the Sight First Clinic Running Club providing the technical support.

The race is backed up by Unilab, 2Big, Wealthbank, Julie’s Bakeshop,  Cebu Urologic Institute, Cebu Orthopedic Institute, Alcordo Advertising and Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
