The “Mayor Tomas R. Osmeña and Councilors’-Sinulog Dart Cup 2008" starts the classified four-man team elimination round tonight at Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.
So far, 10 squads have signed up for the competition organized by the Cebu City Hall Employee Darters Association (CHEDA).
The champion in this event gets P 8,000 while the second placers gets P5,000 while the third and fourth placers, on the other hand, gets P3,000 and P2,000, respectively. The top four teams will also receive trophies.
The team competition is only the first salvo of the 2008 season. More darts competitions are coming up including the classified doubles starts on February 9 followed by the open singles on February 16, with close to P20,000 of cash prizes at stake in these two events.
The championship games of all events will be on February 23, as part of Cebu City Charter Day celebration.
Meanwhile, Roy Laude and Marlito Patunob won the title in the recent Baseline Sinulog Open Doubles Darts Tournament at the Baseline Restaurant.
Laude and Patunob blanked the favored pair of Wyno Ugan and Boboy Manlunas 2-0 in the best-of-three finals. The pair of Allan Bejuna and Steve Montenegro bagged third place after beating Brian Gabuya and William Encorporado.
