2007 MS Motosuit Motocross Series ‘Awards Night’ set

The top riders of the 2007 MS Motosuit Motocross Series will be formally be feted in a grand rites on January 19 at the Grand Convention Center of Cebu.Topping the honor roll is Jobannie Abellar, the “Rider of the Year” awardee.

Abellar bagged the coveted award for accumulating the most number of points after 11 legs with 279 under the premiere experts class. Breathing down his neck is the veteran Pepo Rubi with 253 points.

It’s a double celebration for Abellar as he also reigned supreme in the intermediate class.

MS Motosuit official endorser John Flores, on the other hand, stayed in his throne as king in the mini division. He actually posted the most number of points in the 11-leg series with 370.

Just like Abellar, Ayen Ledesma is also set to collect two overall championship trophies as he lorded it over in the open enduro and beginner’s open production.

The other overall champion in their respective classes are Andot Rubi in the executive A, Seigfred Ornopia in executive B, Paulo Inoc in the novice open production, and Donkey Sanchez in local enduro.

MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia, last year’s “Sportsman of the Year” honoree by the Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC), said some dirtbike accessories and giveaways will be raffled off during the affair.

Seigfred Ornopia, Lou’s younger brother and owner of Keiz BZ’s, has also donated one unit of Crypton motorcycle that will be raffled off among the different category champions.

The 2008 edition of the highly-successful MS Motosuit Motocross Series will formally be launched right after the awarding ceremonies.  — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
