Two running doctors head Sugbu racefield

New York City Marathon finishers Dr. Yong Larrazabal and Dr. Peter Mancao will lead more than 1,500 other runners in the Sugbu Marathon 2008 this Sunday.

The 21-kilometer half marathon that will start at the Asiatown I. T. Park in Lahug will have three categories, team, doctors and executives and these runners who will be running through the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu and back to Asiatown.

Aside from the 21-kilometer race - there will be two special events - the 3K and 6K. The shorter distance is for children who are 12 years old and younger while the longer distance is exclusive for Mactan Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) employees.

Cash prizes await the winners and special awards for runners with unique getups. The beneficiary of the event is the Mana Ministry.

Registration fee is P200. Runners may register at the Philippine Sports Commission VII Office until January 11.

The Cebu Road Runners Club, Sight First Running Club and CSI-Cebu will provide technical support for the race.
