Lagman closes in on 14-under crown

Cebuano netter Jacob Lagman moved one step away from clinching the 14-under title of the 19th Andrada Cup Age-group Tennis Championships yesterday at  Rizal Memorial tennis courts.

Lagman hammered out a lopsided 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mauron Benzon in the semifinal round. The graduating elementary student of St. Benedict Childhood Learning Center will face next Deo Talatayod for the championship.Lagman has beaten Talatayod several times already when they still fought under the boys 12-under division.

Lagman is aching to win the crown not only to assert his dominance over Talatayod, but also to make his first official entry in the boys 14-under class a memorable one. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
