Julius Lagman settles for bronze

-

Julius Lagman of Sacred Heart School-Jesuit settled for bronze after losing his semifinal match in the 21-under class of the Milo Junior Tennis Cup at Philam tennis club in Quezon City yesterday.

Lagman tried his best but his best wasn’t good enough as he bowed to the more seasoned Nic Fernandez 3-6, 4-6.

Julius is the oldest of the four Lagman brothers who competed in the event. Among the four, only Jacob went home with the gold after winning the boys’ 12-under title over Hans Asistion of Manila 6-4, 6-1.

Jacob’s victory put an exclamation point to his campaign in the 12-under division as the match was his last. In 2008, Jacob will be playing in the 14-under category.

The Lagmans didn’t play in the doubles, as earlier reported, due to rain.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
