Reluya Cup kicks off tomorrow

-

With the expert class and three other division overall titles still at stake, the Mayor Neneth Reluya Cup that kicks off tomorrow in San Fernando, Cebu, promises to be as exciting as the other previous legs.

Glenn Aguilar, the country’s premiere rider, once again will display his talent in a special race against the likes of Pepo Rubi, Jon-Jon Adlawan, Jubannie and Jubenile Abellar among others, in the 11th and final leg of 2007.

Among the contenders, Jobannie Abellar will seek for a double title this year. Having already won the intermediate class, he is setting his sights on the expert class, which he leads with 270 points.

Standing on his way is Pepo Rubi, who is only behind by 39 points. If Rubi wins any of the heats, which is worth 50 points, then the final expert class race will be the event to watch.

Aside from the expert class, riders will be battling for the overall titles in Executive A, B and open enduro.

Leading the Executive A race after 10 legs is Andot Rubi with 304 points with Jun Enriquez and Aloy Igot in second and third places.

Seigrfred Ornopia is leading Executive B with 298 points, 31 points ahead of Enriquez.

Ayen Ledesma, on the other hand, is on top of the open enduro class with 298 points, leading Dongkie Sanchez who has 264 points.

Riders who have already bagged titles in their respective categories were John Flores (mini class), Dongkie Sanchez (local enduro), Paulo Inoc (novice open production) and Ayen Ledesma (beginner’s open production).   — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
