Fajardo stars anew for UC

Six-foot-seven beanpole center Jun Mar Fajardo scored 30 points to help UC/Aspac Bank outlast DBTC/Unilab-Alaxan 100-90 for its second victory in the Reinforced Partner’s Cup last Thursday at the Cebu Coliseum.

Fajardo struck hardest in the fourth quarter when DBTC had gotten the momentum after overcoming a 26-point deficit.

DBTC has come within 69-75 at the start of the fourth period when Coach Roel Gomez sued for time and sent Fajardo back into the game.

UC had built a 60-34 lead and Coach Gomez decided to give Fajardo some rest. Without Fajardo in the paint, DBTC assembled a comeback run that put them within 67-74 at the end of third.
