Yap tops CCCI- Callaway golfest

Eddie Yap bagged the title of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce-Callaway Golf for Education Tournament at the Cebu Country Club last Wednesday.

Yap fired an 18-hole effort of ten-under-par 46 points in the Modified Stableford Scoring System off nines of 24 and 22.

First runner-up honors went to Edwin Go Lim with 44 points on nines of 20 and 24.  He won the higher honors after edging Jufil Sato in the countback.

Sato also made 44 points off nines of 21 and 23 and settled for the second runner-up plum.

Marko Sarmiento scored 42 points on nines of 21 and 21 to claim the 3rd runner-up honors after edging four other players for the award.

Toby Florendo was 4th runner-up also with 42 slipping past the comebacking Jiji Gullas, Wendell Yap and Ben Li in the countback.

Roden Tuazon won a special prize for nearest the pin on the par-3 hole No. 3 while Sarmiento made the longest drive on the par-5 hole No. 11.

The tournament was organized by the committee led by David Chan. — NLQ
